Learning to cook is great for your body, heart, and mind. It builds self-reliance and confidence, it’s a creative process with immediate rewards, it’s a life skill that connects you with the people you love, it exercises your math, logic, science, fine motor skills, and artistic abilities. Cooking creates community, and it establishes good eating habits and a life-long appreciation for food.

COOK! Programs has been teaching hands-on culinary skills to kids since 2009. We teach safety, technique, appreciation for ingredients, and collaboration in the kitchen (among many other things). Our courses have traditionally been held in commercial kitchens during the summer months, for kids ages 9 – 18.
Starting in April we are now teaching live, online, family-friendly classes!
Redwood Place is a Mental health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC). We serve adult residents (age 18+) of Golden Gate Regional Center and Regional Center of the East Bay, who have been diagnosed with a severe mental illness and a developmental disability.
Since opening in 1996, Monica Learning Center, Inc. has helped thousands of students reach their full academic potential. Our students experience dramatic improvements in both their school grades and their standardized test scores because of personalized attention and a focus on individual strengths and weaknesses.
In order to assist Bay Area artists, the Center for Cultural Innovation is providing grants of up to $8000 for individual creators. The deadline for application is August 28th; if you or anyone you know could benefit from this assistance, make sure to apply soon.
